We saw a crossroad in the near future. Also, we had to evaluate how to compensate our other two children, who are not involved in the company. Finally, we had to be comfortable on our exit compensation and timelines. There were tax issues involved and risk considerations they walked us through. It was not an easy task, but we developed a good solution.

Employee Benefit Plan - Trustee / Administrator
This is not an area I personally had a lot of expertise in. These plans, and their compliance requirements, are not something I want to get familiar with either. I just want them to be accurate and continue to build retirement funds without any incidents. As it turned out our previous accounting firm knew little about them as well because when Samuel Goldstein & Co. looked at the plans he saw some immediate problems. One was bad news we needed to modify. The other was good news, which reduced our company’s contribution for the year. We are just happy the found these issues before we got hit with penalties and fines.
